About Us

The foremost, premier and oldest dental school in Malaysia. The teaching of dentistry at the University of Malaya has a long history that can be traced back from the establishment of Dental Department at the King Edward VII College of Medicine in Federation of Malaya (1927-1949) and Department of Dentistry, University of Malaya in Singapore (1949-1961), which later became part of the University of Singapore (1962-1980) following the Legislation passed in 1961. The new Dental Faculty of the University of Malaya was reestablished in Kuala Lumpur in 1971.

Currently, we are located near the University of Malaya Medical Centre Kuala Lumpur, which is the largest teaching hospital in the country.

Our dental school has been the centre for various examinations of The Royal College of Surgeons of England since 1994. The school offers various clinical and research master and doctoral degrees. We are continuously strengthening every aspect of teaching & learning, patient care and research & innovation activities at the faculty

Our aim is to be the dental school that the world can’t ignore.
